What’s the big advantage of a 3 axle sleeper truck? Well, it’s got a compartment large enough to lay down and rest, making it a go-to truck type for long-haul trucking.

Originally, sleepers were not very comfortable. But as the long-haul trucking industry grew, so did the size of the sleeper cabin. Sleeper truck compartments were invented when new regulations passed in the late 1950s obligating drivers to take rests. Today, 3 axle sleeper truck cabins come in various sizes depending on the type of hauling being performed.

If you’re working long hours within a short distance from home, a 36”-48” sleeper will have what you need to take a rest. Long-haul truckers who live on the road, on the other hand, may prefer sleepers that are over 86” long. Yes, that’s a lot like an RV!
